Library Shorts 23/04/15 – The Hamilton Charter and the medieval University

Come along to Library Shorts this Thursday (23rd April) and find out about the role the Hamilton charter played in establishing the University of Glasgow both physically and theoretically in Glasgow and Scotland. The Hamilton Charter is particularly important as it represents the largest private gift given by a lay magnate to a Scottish university prior to Marischal College in Aberdeen. The talk will also cover the circumstances surrounding the foundation of the University of Glasgow and its early life, mainly in terms of buildings, on the high street.

No need to book – just come along to the TalkLab on level 3 of the Library on Thursday 23rd April at 12.15.
