The Supreme Court decision of Montgomery v Lanarkshire HB  enhanced protection of patient rights to include information about the risks involved in proposed treatment, and information on alternative treatments. This briefing provides context in light of the Scottish Government’s commitment to review the consent process, mental capacity and mental health legislation.”
