The Altmetric Top 100 is here and three University of Glasgow publications have made the top 20.
Altmetrics or alternative metrics are an indicator of attention and track attention through likes and shares on social media, news web sites, policy documents and academic networking sites.
The Altmetric Top 100 has been published since 2013 and consists of original research in peer-reviewed journals or pre-prints intended for publication.
Dr Vittal Katikireddi contributed to the Global Burden of Disease 2016 Alcohol Collaborators groups whose ‘Alcohol use and burden for 195 countries and territories, 1990–2016: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2016‘ is at number 3 in the Top 100.
At number 15 is ‘Risk thresholds for alcohol consumption: combined analysis of individual-participant data for 599 912 current drinkers in 83 prospective studies’ published in the Lancet in April 2018. Congratulations to Professor Ian Ford and Professor Naveed Sattar.
Also featuring Professors Ian Ford and Naveed Sattar, ‘Primary care-led weight management for remission of type 2 diabetes (DiRECT): an open-label, cluster-randomised trial’ appears at 20.
