Colour Our Collections: Hunter 300 edition

It’s Color Our Collections week again (5-9 February), a week where archives, special collections and libraries encourage you to explore, colour and connect with our collections.

2018 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Dr William Hunter (1718-1783) and we’ve selected selected examples from William Hunter’s library which is one of Archives and Special Collections’ best known and most treasured collections, comprising some 10,000 printed books and over 600 manuscripts.

This year our colouring book includes dragons, lions, skeletons and of course illustrations from the Hunterian Psalter – the greatest treasure of Dr William Hunter’s magnificent eighteenth century library. It also includes maps showing the location of the University’s Hunterian museum in Glasgow at different periods from the Library’s Maps, Official Publications & Statistics Unit collections.

Look out for pop-up colouring stations in the library this week or you can download our colouring book here and share your creations with us on twitter or instagram using #colorourcollections.
