The Coffee Morning
Library staff held a colourful and fun-packed Easter coffee morning yesterday. A lovely time was had by all and we’re delighted to report that we raised over £500 for MacMillan Cancer – a great sum of money for a fantastic cause.
Staff donated delicious home baking and fabulous raffle prizes, guessed the weight of the Easter egg, tested their knowledge in a cryptic chocolate quiz, and perhaps most ‘egg’citingly (sorry) of all, took part in Easter bonnet and Easter egg painting competitions. Who knew we had such hugely talented bakers, d’egg’orators (really sorry) and milliners in our midst?
The Bonnets (hats off)
The Eggs (cracking effort)
The Winners (‘egg’cellent work)
Easter egg competition, from left to right – Edith McCann (1st place), William Nixon (2nd place) and Rachael Egan (3rd place).
The Social Committee (Lesley, Janice, Roma, Joanne, Louise, Erika, Annette and Eileen) would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who attended, contributed to, and supported the event yesterday – we had a great time and really hope you did too!
