Library Refurbishment: drilling through concrete floor between Levels 1 & 2

Drillholes collage

Small drill holes marking the site for further drilling

Work started this week to drill through the concrete floor on Level 2 to create a staircase, and light wells, down to Level 1.

Level 1, previously a dingy basement storage area, will be transformed, in the coming months, to a fabulous new study floor with over 100 additional study spaces.

Unfortunately there is some noise associated with the drilling. We’re really sorry about this but please try to bear with us – it’ll be worth it in the end!

Use #LibraryRefurb on facebook & twitter (uofglibrary) for live info on building works associated with the refurbishment.

  1. It would be great to have these updates advertised in paper format around the library for all users. Thanks 🙂
