Opportunity to work with Archive Services

Thinking about your future career?  What about a future in archives?

Archive Services is part of the Opening Up Scotland’s Archives programme, led by the Scottish Council on Archives.  Through this programme, we are offering a one-year traineeship working in Archive Services and the wider University Library, with a particular focus on digital preservation.

The recruitment process is now open and will run until 5pm on Sunday 5th July.

  • You can find out about the programme here.
  • You can find out about our Digital Preservation Traineeship, and the application process, here.
  • You can find out about our current Digital Preservation trainee, Mary, here.

Opening Up Scotland’s Archives is a Skills for the Future programme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.  It looks to create a more diverse workforce in the archives sector, and looks to recuit individuals who may never have thought about a job in this area.
