The Gilmorehill Story Project

124_PHU1112 - Intro Blog

Hello! I’m Amanda and I’m the Project Officer for the The Gilmorehill Story Project. Archive Services are currently creating a website detailing the rich history of each building located on the University’s Gilmorehill campus.

In the summer of 2014 Lauren Moffat, a Club 21 volunteer, created a wonderful Flickr album introducing a collection of photographs of buildings documenting the University’s move from the Old College on the High Street to the Gilmorehill campus in 1870. You can view the original blog post ‘144 years at Gilmorehill’ here and Flickr set here. Lauren also created three blog posts which will be posted weekly starting tomorrow!

The project is now underway so stay tuned for Lauren’s blogs and for weekly Twitter posts on Thursdays! Follow us @GUArchives #gilmorehillstory

  1. Hi Amanda,

Can you tell us the history of Gilmorehill itself? As in, how did it get it’s name?

    Thanks~

    Ali Gilmore
