THE TIMES DIGITAL ARCHIVE

The Times Digital Archive is an online resource that has recently been extended and now covers every page of every issue published between 1785-2008 of The Times (London), in its original published context. The Times is the oldest daily newspaper in continuous publication and is widely considered to be the “world’s newspaper of record” covering every major historical event from the French Revolution to the Falklands War as well as chronicling all significant social, economic and cultural trends. Users are able to search the full-text of the entire newspaper, including articles, editorials, and advertising. The results of searches are viewed as images of either specific articles or complete pages with hit-terms highlighted. This resource provides a valuable and fascinating range of primary source material that can be used for teaching and research across the Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.

You can access the Times Digital Archive (1785-2008) from the database link on the Library Home Page . It is available to all students and staff on and off campus using your GUID.
