BBC2 Coast Series 9

In January the BBC filmed some of our beautiful aquatint etchings from A Voyage Round Great Britain by William Daniell and Richard Ayton, London, 1814-1825 for Series 9 of the popular BBC2 series Coast.

Fingal's Cave, Staffa

Fingal’s Cave, Staffa

A celebration of the rural coastline of Britain, this eight volume collection of 308 aquatints with accompanying commentary details the sublime and picturesque coastline in the final decades preceding the age of photography. The plates filmed cover such diverse locations as Land’s End, Cornwall, Puffin Island near Anglesey, Fingal’s Cave, Staffa and the Orford Ness Lighthouse. Our images will be featured on the Explorers Coast episode which will be broadcast on Tuesday 29th July at 9pm on BBC2.
