Budget 2014

Budget boxThe Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne MP, presented his Budget to Parliament on 19 March 2014. This is the fifth and penultimate Budget of the current Coalition Government. In his Budget speech the Chancellor outlined how the Government plans to raise and spend money in the coming year. Some key points of the Budget include:-

  • Reductions to overall public spending (TME) by £2 billion a year from 2016/17
  • Extension of the Help to Buy equity loan scheme from 2016/17 to 2019/20
  • Personal income tax allowance raised to £10,500 for 2015/16
