Piobaireachd Society Club 21 placement

When I was a graduate trainee at the Archives I had the opportunity to work with the Piobaireachd Society correspondence collection. The collection of letters and leaflets tells the story of the Piobaireachd Society: a society that continues to promote the playing of traditional Highland bag-pipe music today.

The archives are now offering a Club21 placement opportunity to research the collection further and provide some detailed descriptions of the fascinating correspondence. This placement would be ideal for students studying Gaelic or Celtic Civilisation and who have an interest in history. You may find that the material could form an interesting dissertation topic!

Details of the voluntary placement and how to apply can be found here.

Apply now for the chance to get hands-on with some historical highland materials!
