E-journal access possible disruption weekend commencing 15th October (now fixed)
This problem has now been resolved (18/10/10) Due to system downtime users may experience problems while accessing e-journals via the E-journal A to Z Listing, the weekend commencing the evening of the 15th October. Access to e-journals via other methods (e.g. QuickSearch etc) should not be effected.
Library café service reopens on Monday 4 October
The “Food in Focus” Library café service reopens on Monday 4 October. Selling hot drinks and snacks, the café on level 3 will be open from Monday-Thursday 12:00-20:00 and Friday-Sunday 12:00-17:00. Vending machines selling a range of food and drinks are available during Library opening hours.
SPIE Digital Library E-books
The library has recently subscribed to SPIE eBooks on the SPIE Digital Library. SPIE eBooks currently includes 132 significant titles from SPIE Press, including Field Guides, monographs and reference books, and Tutorial Texts in the field of optics and photonics. New editions and titles will be added each year. Access the e-books via http://www.spiedigitallibrary.org/ebooks.

The Student IT Helpdesk will reopen on Level 3 on Friday 10th September
The rest of Level 3 will remain closed until next week. The Helpdesk will only be accessible from the central staircase and lifts – staff at the Welcome Desk on Level 2 will be happy to direct you.
Temporary disruption to LexisLibrary access (now fixed)
This problem has now been resolved (9/8/10) The link to LexisLibrary database is temporarily not working. However, all Lexis journals can be accessed directly on campus and via VPN off campus until the issue is resolved. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Wiley resources – disruption to service 7th & 8th August – now fixed
This problem has now been resolved (2/9/10) Wiley Interscience are launching a new platform over the weekend of the 7th and 8th of August. There will be a period of unavailability during this time to facilitate the transition to their new platform called Wiley Online Library. More information can be found here: Wiley Online Library
