Founded in 1981, the Scottish Theatre Archive forms part of the Special Collections Department of the University of Glasgow Library. Its role is to help preserve Scotland’s theatrical heritage by providing a safe home for archival material and by making it accessible to all those interested in Scottish theatre.

The display takes us on a tour through influential plays of the 1960’s and 70’s, the magic of pantomime and highlights some of our more recent acquisitions, which include the papers of Giles Havergal (Former Director of the Citizens’ Theatre, Glasgow) and the archive of the National Theatre of Scotland.

See Special Collections opening hours for when you can drop in to see the display.
