Archive Services have recently joined Twitter, you can follow us @guarchives.
We will be using twitter to stay in touch with our users, promote our collections, link across to this blog and the content on our website and flickr.
It will also give us a really quick and easy way to share treasures, new finds, accessions and cataloguing progress as well as updates on funded projects and general news about our service (eg changes to searchroom opening times).
The images you can see on our profile page have been taken from our collection of building plans of the University of Glasgow. The background image shows a section view of a plan of the Gilbert Scott building designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott. (Ref BUL6/1/13a).
The smaller image used as our header is a plan showing the design for gates to gateways in south front entrance of the New College buildings, c.1860 by John Oldrid Scott. (Ref GUA12904). The tiny profile image is of our Thurso Street searchroom. If you are interested in finding out more about these items please contact us.

Please do not imagine that all people interested in Archives attend to Twitter, a most pernicious (if fashionable) medium.
