Congratulations to everyone who is graduating today!
Today is the first day of the summer graduations 2012 with students obtaining their degrees in subject areas such as Chemistry, Geography, Social Science and Physics. Throughout this graduation period we will be featuring the 1912 counterparts of the students graduating this summer; highlighting some particularly notable students. Our first graduate from one hundred years ago to be featured is Neil Young Wilson who graduated with an MA in 1912 and excelled in Physics.
Neil Young Wilson was a very bright student and picked up many prizes in Physics subjects. Altogether he picked up five first class certificates in subjects such as Natural Philosophy (Physics), Physical Laboratory and Logic & Metaphysics. He also won a medal for Physics in his second year of study, coming top of the class.
Do you have any ancestors who graduated in 1912? What did they study? We would love to hear from you!
If you would like to find out more about the students featured here or any other students who graduated in 1912, you can find them on the University Story or contact the Duty Archivist.
Stay tuned for other notable students from 1912 appearing this graduation period!
