There are still place available for the colloquium we are holding on Thursday 12th on our Euing collection of English broadside ballads. So if you would like to find out about the Bloody Butcher and more, please come along for some carousing (well, there will be singing, and biscuits …!)
As well as various talks about the collection, there will be a small selection of the ballads on display (chosen by Eric Nebeker of the English Broadside Ballad Archive at the University of California, Santa Barbara) and Kathy Hobkirk will be bringing some of the ballads to life in song.
It all starts at 2pm in the Henry Heaney Room, Special Collections, University of Glasgow Library (level 12). Everyone welcome!
Attendance is free but just let me know if you are planning on coming so I can order enough coffee (and biscuits): email me at Julie.Gardham@glasgow.ac.uk.

Vox Populi – Remembering 1979
Sounds great! If there’s no carousing, can the coffee be quaffed responsibly under close supervision?
Absolutely, and obviously no going dangerously near the broadsides with cup in hand, scattering biscuit crumbs …
