Following a successful trial last year, and in response to feedback from University of Glasgow students about pressure on study spaces in the Library at exam time, we are introducing temporary access arrangements for students from other universities and colleges until the end of the exam period.
From next Tuesday (10th April) until 31st May, students from other UK institutions who use their registration card from their home university or college to enter the University of Glasgow Library will not be able to access the Library between 7.15am and 5pm Monday-Friday. This change also includes students with a SCONUL Reference Only card. These students will still be able to access the Library after 5pm Monday – Friday and all day at the weekends.
Full SCONUL members, corporate, alumni and members of formal reciprocal schemes will not be affected by this change.
Normal access arrangements will resume on 1st June.
We hope that our student visitors from other institutions will understand that we need to keep study spaces available for our home students during the exam period.
If you are unsure whether these arrangements will affect you, please contact the library on library@lib.gla.ac.uk or on 0141 330 6704 for more information.
