The 2011 Census of the United Kingdom will take place on the 27th of March. In Scotland more than 2.6 million questionnaires have been printed, enough to reach every household. The information gathered from the returned questionnaires will be used to plan Government spending in every area of our lives.
If you want to know more about the census and its history there is a display near the enquiry desk on level 7. You can also find information on the Scotland’s Census website, and on the 2011 Census website.
The reports of all previous UK censuses can be found in the Maps, Official Publications and Statistics Unit on level 7 of the Library. For access to these, and help with any of the other statistical resources held by the Library, just ask at the level 7 enquiry desk or get in touch using the contact details on our website.

Hi Petro
The best thing to do is to contact our maps and Official Publications Unit by e-mail mops@lib.gla.ac.uk and ask how best to proceed with this. If Alexander McCallum attended the University of Glasgow or worked here you could also contact our Archive Services using their web form at http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/archives/contactus/generalenquiry/ and see if they have any information on him.
