Over the summer, a number of items from Special Collections have been on display in the National Galleries of Scotland, as part of the Impressionist Gardens exhibition.
A selection of 19th century journals, flower books and gardener’s handbooks were selected by Dr Clare Willsdon (History of Art), Academic Advisor to the exhibition, to provide context to the paintings on display. Featured items include two books on ‘the language of flowers’ from our Stirling Maxwell collection.
There is still time to catch the exhibition, which ends on 17th October.
