Springer e-books

The library is currently participating in a six month trial of all Springer English Language eBook Collections. The trial has been set up to include access to over 16,000 e-book titles and access will run until the end of October 2010 via http://springerlink.com. The content covers subjects including (but not limited to) Medicine, Biomedical and Life Sciences, Computing Science, Physics, Chemistry, Business and Economics, Humanities, Social Sciences and Law.

The e-books are cross searchable with the journal content that we already access from Springer and have no Digital Rights Management restrictions in place (this means you can print and email chapters without any restrictions). The trial allows unlimited concurrent usage and gives access to all types of book – reference works, handbooks, textbooks, book series and monographs.

The content is searchable via Quicksearch and Search for Library items or alternatively by searching http://springerlink.com directly.

Access is direct on campus. Your GUID is required to view the content off campus.

Springer Protocols

As part of the trial, we have access to SpringerProtocols. SpringerProtocols began life as a series of Humana Press book series, namely; Methods in Molecular Biology, Methods in Molecular Medicine and Methods in Biotechnology. These series were the first to introduce the step-by-step approach that has become standard throughout biomedical protocol publishing. This content has been re-indexed so that each protocol is searchable in its own right and protocol content from key Springer journals has also been added to SpringerProtocols. SpringerProtocols is now a comprehensive collection of peer-reviewed life sciences protocols with more than 18,000 protocols included and an additional 2,000 added each year.

This content can only be found by searching http://springerlink.com or http://Springerprotocols.com directly.

We welcome feedback on this trial. Please provide your feedback via the following form. http://www.lib.gla.ac.uk/services/library/contactus/forms/trialresourcesfeedbackform
