  • The Annual Report of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills 2008/09 [HC 11] – The report summarises the findings from the inspections and regulatory activity in 2008/09 in all the areas of their remit. For each sector, it set out an overview of the quality of provision and of the progress and experience of the learners and children concerned.
  • Combating Climate Change (National Assessment of UK Forestry and Climate Change Steering Group) – A Role For UK Forests: Main Report – An Assessment of The Potential of The UK’s Trees and Woodlands to Mitigate and Adapt to Climate Change
  • A review of corporate governance in UK banks and other financial industry entities: Final recommendations 26 November 2009 – Walker Review of Corporate Governance of UK Banking Industry – HM Treasury
  • Review of financial support for Members of the House of Lords (Cm 7746) – Review Body on Senior Salaries (SSRB): The SSRB review was formally commissioned by the Prime Minister, following the decision of the House of Lords’ House Committee to seek an independent, external review of the system of financial support for Members.
  • Scotland’s future in the UK: Government’s White Paper on plans for further devolution in Scotland (Cm 7738)- White Paper develops the recommendations of the report from the Commission on Scottish Devolution, published earlier this year and the proposals of a cross-party group made up of members of both the Commons and the Scottish Parliament.
  • Together We Can End Violence Against Women and Girls (Home Office) – Strategy signals a new focus on preventing violence from happening. From 2011, preventing violence in relationships will be included in personal, social, health and economic education in schools. This will ensure that attitudes which condone and perpetuate violence against women are addressed before they become entrenched in young people.
  • Transport Statistics: Great Britain – 2009 (Dept of Transport) – 35th edition of this annual publication and contains a wide range of transport statistics
  • An uncertain mix: equality and Scottish devolution – Equality and Human Rights Commission – research suggests that the Scottish Parliament’s impact in tackling inequality over the last ten years, while positive, has been limited.
  • United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: Priorities for action (Dept. Children,Schools & Families) – document highlights the progress the Government has made in its commitment to priority areas of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and sets out future plans.
  • Working Together, Achieving More (Dept. Children, Schools & Families- document outlines the Government’s plans to make England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland the best place for all children and young people to live. It describes the commitment to working progressively towards implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
