October’s Book of the Month is “Photographic Pleasures” by Cuthbert Bede. The book is a comical and satirical Victorian work about development of early photography, and it provides a concise insight into the world of Victorian photography.

The book, published in 1855, treats the subject of photography in a light-hearted and humorous manner, and is illustrated throughout with drawings by the author.
