It has become a yearly ritual that all new graduate trainees attend the freshers’ fair with the aim of encouraging societies and clubs to deposit their records with the Archive Services. This year graduate trainees Cheryl Brown, Victoria Stobo and Lucy Neville for the year 09/10 visited the fair armed with flyers they designed themselves which they handed out to societies who do not already deposit records with the archives but also those who do, with the hope that they will continue in the future.
There was a marked interest from the well established clubs such as the Conservative Association and the Archaeological Society who already deposit records with us. There was positive interest from the Drama Club, the Cuckoo’s nest and the Alchemist Society. Since the fair we have had follow up interest from the Drama club and the Kung Fu club who are interested in finding out the history of their club with the intention of possibly depositing records with us.
If you are part of a student club or society and would like advice on how to store and manage your records Archive Services would be happy to help!
